Role: The mission of MuniBilling Managed Services is to provide value to managed service customers by functioning as the billing operations entity and providing critical insights to production effectiveness in all aspects of our clients' utility business.
Billing Invoice contributes to Managed Services by:
- Managing the lifecycle of utility bill invoice creation by
- Serving as the SME liaison between client utility companies and billed customers
- Compiling utility usage data to create an invoice
- Creating utility invoices
- Processing changes to customer accounts
- Providing financial and activity reports for utility clients

Essential Functions: - Compile and interpret municipality utility invoices.
- Prepare notifications that are included in the customer's invoice
- Manage the final bills for customers
- Obtain usage data from client utility meter reads and other files to be invoiced.
- Analyze meter read information to identify exceptions and notable variances.
- Generate utility invoices following client-specific bill creation SOPs
- Create and review financial reports generated from invoice creation
- Investigate and respond to phone and email inquiries about invoices
- Generate reports to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to invoices and meter reads
- Identify and escalate support issues as required
- Develop and maintain client-facing and internal SOP-type documentation
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of MuniBilling Managed Service operations

Supervisory Responsibilities: Required Education and Experience: - High school diploma or GED equivalent
- Prior experience supporting customers' use of a software application in some capacity
- Intermediate experience with standard desktop tools – spreadsheet, word processing
Preferred Education and Experience: - 2-to-3 years' experience working with a commercial billing system
- 2-to-3 years' experience working with some utility meter reading
- Associate's Degree in a business-related field
- Experience with Accounting software
