Role Overview :
The District Traffic Engineer is comprehensively responsible for supporting all traffic items in the District, including engineering policies, studies, plans and projects concerned with traffic safety, traffic flow and traffic control devices. The position is responsible for overseeing the traffic and safety project planning function as well as the more than 500 customer cases involving traffic and safety issues each year. The position also works closely with the Traffic Operations section to develop the annual work plan for in-house traffic operations as well as the District Capital Program Management and Construction sections to ensure maintenance of traffic plans are developed and implemented effectively and safely. The position routinely interacts with external stakeholders like city/county engineers and mayors on important traffic and safety issues in their communities.

This position is located in INDOT’s Fort Wayne District, Technical Services Department.
Salary :
This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $85,020.00. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.
