Job Description



AECOM  is actively seeking to add a  Geologist II  to our  Mechanicsburg, PA  office. Our business focuses primarily on providing professional and technical services in engineering design, code consultation, and construction phase services for a wide variety of clients both in the private and public sectors. 

We execute large and complex engineering projects and provide a comprehensive range of professional planning and design, systems engineering and technical assistance, program and construction management, and operations and maintenance services.

The job responsibilities of this position will include but are not limited to:

• Performs standard scientific work requiring application of techniques and procedures.
• Detects problems when using standardized procedures because of the condition of sample, difficulties with the equipment, etc. 
• Conducts specific phases of projects for more experienced scientists. 
• Proposes appropriate analytical methods and techniques. Assists in providing advice and consulting services within scope of scientific knowledge. 
• Draws conclusions and makes recommendations based on analysis. 
• Interprets and records data, conducts analyses, compares findings to relevant studies and local, state and federal regulations to ensure compliance.
• Works under general supervision.

Qualifications



MINIMUM

QUALIFICATIONS

:

  • BA/BS in Geology or related field + 2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid U.S Driver's License and as a condition of employment, must pass AECOM's Motor Vehicle Records Review
  • Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required
  • As a condition of employment, candidates must pass a drug screening

PREFERRED

QUALIFICATIONS

:

  • Master's Degree in Geology or related field
  • 3+ years of experience in remediation consulting completing environmental investigations and site remediation
  • Experience with application of techniques and procedures, including mulit-media sampling (soil, groundwater, sediment, air) 
  • Experience with US EPA, NJDEP, PADEP
  • Subcontractor oversight experience
  • Experience with soil logging and groundwater monitoring well installation
  • Understanding of project delivery requirements,
  • Knowledge to conduct reports with creativity, foresight, collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team
  • Project management experience and developing project goals and deliver high quality technical excellence
  • Proficiency in GIS software.
  • Experience with data visualization tools.
  • Experience with construction documentation, construction management systems and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook)
