Job Description

Fontis Water is actively seeking a highly motivated NON CDL Route Delivery Driver to join our team. As a valued member of our Fontis family, you will play a crucial role in effectively delivering and servicing our products to both commercial and residential customers. Location: Watkinsville/Athens area Hours: Monday to Friday, starting at 6:30 A.M. Salary: Competitive; will be discussed in an interview

As a Non-CDL Route Delivery Driver, your key responsibilities will include:

Delivery:

  • Delivering the correct products to customers at scheduled delivery times and days.
  • Maintaining accurate delivery information for all accounts.
  • Anticipating customer needs to ensure proper inventory management.
  • Responding promptly to special service requests and addressing customer needs with courtesy, kindness, and professionalism.

Sales/Marketing:

  • Upselling to new and existing customers.
  • Organizing sales leads and forwarding them to the Direct Sales team for follow-up.

Safety:

  • Operating the vehicle in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Completing daily DOT required documentation.
  • Adhering to defined safe work practices.
  • Taking ownership of personal safety, as well as the safety of co-workers and the public.

Teamwork:

  • Supporting the team with decision-making and providing assistance when needed.
  • Communicating effectively and actively participating within the team.
  • Problem-solving and managing conflicts within the team.

Minimum Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 45 pounds, an average of 140 visits per day, with or without reasonable accommodation.
  • Ability to climb in and out of a commercial vehicle an average of 30-50 times per day.
  • Ability to work an average of 40-45 hours per week.
  • Ability to alternately sit, stand, push, pull, and walk throughout the day, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Basic Qualifications:

  • High School diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Ability to secure and/or maintain a Class D normal driver's license.
  • Motor Vehicle Record (MVR): Only 1 license in the last 3 years, with no driving-related suspension, revocation, or cancellation; no disqualifying offenses; no more than 2 moving violations; and no reckless driving incidents.
  • No major driving offenses in the last 7 years, such as DUI/DWI, reckless driving, refusal to test, leaving the scene, driving a commercial vehicle without a CDL, or at-fault fatal accidents.
  • Minimum age of 21 years due to insurance requirements.

Required Skills & Experience: To succeed in this role, you should possess the following:

  • Willingness and ability to prioritize personal, community, and vehicle safety.
  • Adaptability, openness to change, and a strong willingness to learn.
  • Dependable attendance history and adherence to Uniform Policy and Grooming standards.
  • Good organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively.
  • Previous experience working in outdoor elements (e.g., heat of summer, cold of winter, rain, etc.) is strongly preferred.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in a highly customer service-focused or delivery driving role (any delivery experience driving a vehicle weighing less than 26,000 lbs., which requires a non-CDL license, is acceptable).
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in a highly customer service-driven industry and/or position.
  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
