About The Role As a Safety Manager at United Utility, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the well-being of our teams and the success of our projects. Your impact will be felt across the business as you lead efforts to maintain a culture of safety excellence, directly contributing to the success of our power infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities - Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Conduct regular safety audits and inspections at project sites, identifying and addressing potential hazards.
- Collaborate with project teams to integrate safety measures into project planning and execution.
- Investigate incidents and accidents, analyze root causes, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Provide safety training and support to employees, fostering a proactive safety culture.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, regulations, and best practices to continuously improve safety protocols.
Key Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in safety management within the electric utility or related industry.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and industry safety standards.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven ability to lead and influence teams in prioritizing safety.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety (e.g., CSP, CIH) is a plus.
Key Nice-To-Haves - Master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) designation.
- Additional relevant certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, ASP, CHST).
